What's Up Wednesday

I found this Wednesday blog hop/meme through one of my writer buddies, Liz Briggs. It was started by Jamie Morrow and Erin Funk.  Since I haven't updated you guys in a while with my world, here's a great opportunity to do so.

WHAT I'M READING
One of my girlies' ARC!  THE LOST PLANET by Rachel Searles!!!! It's a fantastic middle grade novel about a boy who's lost his memory with only one clue "Guide the star!" He goes on a space adventure to figure out who he is, where he came from and what his message means.
It's EVERYTHING I imagined as a child the future would be like when we finally became adults; teleportation, inner galactic travel, android robots, food magically appearing out of walls from no where.  (And what a huge disappointment to find out "2001 Space Odyssey" was a complete lie.) Rachel's book will NOT disappoint you. It comes out January 2014. Click here to pre-order your copy today.

WHAT I'M WRITING
I've been working on a contemporary YA about a Texas teen girl who'd rather nurse bovine back to health than make the pageant rounds her mother insists upon.  So she pays a boy from the wrong side of the tracks to ruin her reputation.  But she gets really good and being bad and loses her scholarship to veterinary school.  She has to choose her new found love with this boy, or fight for a future she's always dreamed of. I'm about 32K into it.  I really love it.  I'm hoping to have it done by the end of October and to beta readers.

WHAT INSPIRES ME
Beautiful rooms.  A few months ago I started to redecorate our home, slowly but surely room by room I've updated our space to be a more calming and beautiful place. In doing so, stuff got shoved into the third car garage (aka my office) and  now my only place of inspiration is a junk room. It's time to get my space back.  On Pinterest I've been pinning spaces that I want this room to reflect.  A Boho/Modern Chic look. Here are a couple of images I've printed off to inspire me to take my office back.

WHAT ELSE I'VE I BEEN UP TO
Querying.  Yep.  I took a long break because kids were home for the summer but now I'm back in the game.  It's been really positive, and I'm hoping to find someone who will believe in my story as much as I do.

SO, WHAT'S NEW WITH YOU?
Feel free to hop on over to Jamie Marrow's blog and add your What's Up Wednesday post to her link feeder.
