Dream It, Believe It, Achieve It... 2013

Glitter Graphics - http://www.sparklee.comAt the beginning of 2012 I didn't post a 2012 goal's list on my blog but I did have a plan for the year.  Here's quick look back on what I wanted out of my writing career, and I'm pretty proud of myself for what I accomplished.

2012 Goals:
1. Query...for god sakes, get a book to the stage of query and send that puppy out!  Check!  Not only did I do that, but I did it for two books.  Wahoo!

2. Create my own YA Mafia. Check! Done, baby! And I must say I have an amazing group of women who inspire me to greatness.  Love you, girlies...you know who you are. :)

3. Get an agent.  Half check.  Because you can't force it, but I did all the proper steps to achieve one and have come pretty close so for me that's a plus.

4. Write something awesome. Double check.  I love love love my LGBT story I wrote last year.  It was not anything I ever thought I'd write, and I can't express how proud of myself I am for writing it.

5. Read 50 books.  Doh!  Missed that one by about 20 books.  Oh, well.  30 more books than most people I know.

6. Create more of a blog presence. Well, you can't win them all.  I lagged on my blogging because I never defined what type of posts I want to blog about or what I wanted to achieve with my blog.

All in all, good year.  For 2013, you will see a few of the same goals repeated and a few new goals.
Myspace Text - http://www.sparklee.com(Fancy name guarantees it will really happen. Plus if sparkly Vampires can make you millions, then I say glitter that shit up!)

1. Get an agent.

2. Create new look for  blog and author website. I need a new blog face.  Not sure what it will be but need something new to liven things up.

3. Create a stronger blog presence through blogging more consistently, twitter more relevant writer tweets (and chatting with my YA Mafia buddies of course), and comment on five blogs a week.

4. GET AN AGENT!

5. Write two books.  One of the two must complete the revision process.

6. Read 50 books.

7. Evolve my writing to the next level and refine my writing style.

I think my goals this year are totally doable.  I'm sure as the year progresses, I will add and adjust this list as I see fit.  Essentially, I want to live 2013 with a purpose.  I've dreamed it, and boy do I believe in it, now I just have to achieve it.

What's your main focus 2013?  How are you going to achieve it?
