Sunday Downloads: "Gravity" by Nico Vega
October 07, 2012Finally! I've downloaded some really good music the last few weeks so the next few Sunday Downloads will be full. This next song it flipping fantastic! I love this energy, the eff you attitude and the passion. I have to say the video is brutal in parts, but I totally see the poetic artistic statement. When I first heard the song I thought she was singing to a guy, but now after seeing the video I think she's singing about how society forces conformity on so many individuals, blending us all into this soulless beasts...okay, maybe that's my poetic side guessing, you be the judge. Either way, this song kicks ass. I look forward to sharing more Nico Vega with you guys in the future.
UPDATE: Ha...didn't see this before. Here is the description I just discovered under the you tube video:
"Gravity" the first single off Nico Vega's self titled debut was a collaboration between the band and director Marcus Dunston. Their goal was to capture the destructive nature of suppression on individuality.
Also, at the end of the video, her and the band are on the roof rocking to the song and singing. The way she throws her fist in the air and dances around, THAT is exactly how I sing this song at home when no one is around to watch me. :D
