I've been threatening to start sharing my music tastes with you but haven't followed through. My bestest bud Jessica Love does a Tuesday Tunes on her blog and I love it! Have discovered some great new music because she shared. (See sharing can be good....just not boyfriends....unless you're twins, then that could be fun.)
So now I introduce the ever so creative, totally catchy title "Sunday Downloads". (Yeah, neither catchy or creative, sue me.) I was gonna call it Music Mondays but then they'd have to come up with a new word for lame. And since Tuesday Tunes was already taken, I decided to go with Sunday Downloads because....wait for it...that's when I usually download my music. (You totally didn't see that coming did you?)
Anyway, on to the download.
Seeing as I can't come up with an original idea myself, I decided not to break pattern this blog and post the same awesome song Jessica Love did two Tuesday Tunes ago. I swear, in the future I will not plagiarized Jessica's Tuesday Tunes every week but I might plagiarize the occasional awesomeness.
I love the odd artisticness of the video. The sympathy we have for him after the breakup...until we hear her side. My favorite scenes is when she comes off the wall and then when she is in his face and he flinches from her words. Pretty awesome in my book. Thank you Jessica for sharing.
Gotye - "Somebody That I Used To Know"
Somebody That I Used To Know - Gotye
Now and then I think of when we were together
Like when you said you felt so happy you could die
Told myself that you were right for me
But felt so lonely in your company
But that was love and it's an ache I still remember
You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
Like resignation to the end
Always the end
So when we found that we could not make sense
Well you said that we would still be friends
But I'll admit that I was glad that it was over
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
You didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over
But had me believing it was always something that I'd done
And I don't wanna live that way
Reading into every word you say
You said that you could let it go
And I wouldn't catch you hung up on somebody that you used to know...
But you didn't have to cut me off
Make out like it never happened
And that we were nothing
And I don't even need your love
But you treat me like a stranger
And that feels so rough
You didn't have to stoop so low
Have your friends collect your records
And then change your number
I guess that I don't need that though
Now you're just somebody that I used to know
I used to know
That I used to know
Somebody...
