THE WAIT IS KILLING ME!  Every since I reignited my passion for reading last year I have been waiting for book sequels left and right.  Here is what my 2010 looks like so far.  I’m sure, as I read and discover more fabulous books that this “waiting list” will grow.

March 9Dead Tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan
(Sequel to The Forest of Hands and Teeth)
Gabry lives a quiet life. As safe a life as is possible in a town trapped between a forest and the ocean, in a world teeming with the dead, who constantly hunger for those still living. She’s content on her side of the Barrier, happy to let her friends dream of the Dark City up the coast while she watches from the top of her lighthouse. But there are threats the Barrier cannot hold back. Threats like the secrets Gabry’s mother thought she left behind when she escaped from the Sisterhood and the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Like the cult of religious zealots who worship the dead. Like the stranger from the forest who seems to know Gabry. And suddenly, everything is changing. One reckless moment, and half of Gabry’s generation is dead, the other half imprisoned. Now Gabry only knows one thing: she must face the forest of her mother’s past in order to save herself and the one she loves.

April 27It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han
(Sequel to The Summer I Turned Pretty)

July 20Linger by Maggie Stiefvater
(Sequel to Shiver)
In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other.  Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack.  And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.  At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love -- the light and the dark, the warm and the cold -- in a way you will never forget.

August 24 - Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins
(Final book in The Hunger Games Series)
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

October 12 – The Scorch Trials by James Dashner
(Sequel to The Maze Runner)

Fall 2011  - Wanted by Lisa McMann
(First in a series of a Dystopian YA)

Mockingjay and The Scorch Trials are the two that I'll be freaking over.  What are you waiting for?
