Ready. Set. Write. Week 7 - Better

How I did on last week’s goals:
About 3000 of that 4000 I hoped for. Not bad. And I managed to have a better balance of family time vs writing time. Though family won out, more than writing.

My goal(s) for this week:
1. Write 4000 words on WIP summer romance. (Are you guys tired of reading this?)
2. Read. Yep, that's correct. Because I've been neglecting my reading lately, and I forgot how much reading ignites the writing spark.
3. Make notes on the next two chapters of  WIP.
4. Comment on at least 6 RSW participants progress.  So many people have been kind enough to stop by my blog to encourage me, I want to pay it forward.

A favorite line from my story OR one word/phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised.
Solid writing. It may have not been much this week, but it's solid writing and that has to count for something.

The biggest challenge I face this week.
Life has FINALLY started to slow down for me. But the kids are getting so I see a few days at the beach and resort pool in our future. Which will also mean writing time will have to be moved to the evenings. I'm brain-dead by the evenings. That's going to be hard to do.

Something I love about my WiP.
Research.  It's so fun for me to research all the potential hilarious things that can go on in a bait shop. Or the cool discoveries of cave exploring, secret waterfalls and native american history I'm trying to trickle in.

  1. 3000 words is great progress!

I've been reading more this summer, after neglecting it all spring. I love crashing out with a good book and getting lost in it.

Have a fun week and happy writing!

  2. I totally agree about needing to read some too. I always get excited about my own writing when I read something else I enjoy. Good with the goals this week!

  3. A bait shop? That sounds a fun setting! And it's good that you're enjoying family time- summer will be gone before we know it! I'm waiting for the humidity to drop off so me and the kidlet can go play w/the bubble machine this evening. =)

  4. Solid writing is so much better than oodles of words that are wimpy and will most likely be cut down the road. I'm struggling to balance life with writing myself, so I get that completely. Hope this is another productive week for you and that you're able to shift with ease to writing in the evening. I have a hard time with that too!

  5. That's a great. I feel like I can relate to you so much. Life can take over and having two children under three can make me neglect my writing a bit. I always such my writing to the evening but just like you "I'm brain-dead by the evenings." and whenever I try to wake a bit early to write they wake up early too. It's has been such a challenge this week to write.
